General Information

If you need to book accommodation in Oxford for your visit, or need to orient yourself as to our location, please visit the Visit us tab for recommendations.

OPIC is effectively part of the DIvision of Structural Biology  (STRUBI) laboratories within the Wellcome Centre for Human Genetics, with our Glacios and T12 microscopes located within the STRUBI area. The containment laboratories are a short walk from this area and contain the remainder of our microscopy equipment.

Both microscopes may be operated from a comfortable control room.

If desired, samples may be clipped within the 'yellow' containment suite, or, in the case of HG1 samples, in the EM preparation room just outside the suite, where our vitrobot plunging devices are located.

For refreshments, there is a cafeteria area onsite and a Costa and WHSmith a short walk across the road in the Churchill Hospital.
